GROUPE ROBIN... A LOCAL FAMILY BUSINESS THAT ENJOYS UNDERTAKING AND MEETING NEW CHALLENGES.
In 1973, Mr. Robert Robin, founder of Groupe Robin, began construction on his very first house with the help of his wife - Lise D'Amour. The following year, Mr. Robin began construction on the first 4-unit building of his career. One year later and with several projects underway, Mr. Robin decided to incorporate the company under the name "Les Constructions Robert Robin Inc", the Groupe's first company. In 1977, with the construction of its first major shopping centre - Place Casavant in Saint-Hyacinthe, the Company expanded into the commercial real estate market. In 1982, Robert's older brother, Mr. Gilles-Marc Robin, joined the family business until 2002.
Over the next several years, projects flowed seamlessly one into the next, including residential developments in Douville (Le Domaine Hertel), the Bois-Joli district and the Douville district as well as numerous commercial developments such as: Clinique Familiale de Saint-Hyacinthe, l'Allée du Marché (in 1984), Le Manuf, UPA, Les Promenades Bois-Joli, Centre d'Achat Douville, Centre d'Affaires Casavant, etc. In all over the past 30 years, Groupe Robin has built hundreds of single family homes, dozens of rental properties, and has developed numerous commercial buildings and projects as well as several distribution centres. The Company also developed various projects in surrounding municipalities: Les Halles de Granby in 1988, various residential developments in Granby and Boucherville in 1990, the Labatt distribution centre in Trois-Rivières as well as a shopping centre in Sainte-Julie in 2003.
In 2001 and 2003 respectively, Robert's two children, Jonathan and Nellie, joined the Company while in process of completing their studies in order to address a significant challenge - ensuring the succession of the family business. The newly formed team developed several innovative real estate projects such as L'Eau-Vive (a residence designed specifically for active retirees), Carré Urbain and Terrasses Girouard as well as several new residential projects, including: Condos du Golf Phase III, Havre des Dominicains and Castels du Havre. Through the various projects and over the many years, the company has acquired solid knowledge of the market and industry-recognised multidisciplinary expertise.
